DERMATOLOGIST & MOHS SURGEON
Christopher Downing, MD, FAAD, is a fellowship-trained, double-board-certified Mohs surgeon and dermatologist. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Florida. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Houston and at MD Anderson Cancer Center, obtaining advanced experience in treating aggressive melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers.
He completed his Mohs Micrographic Surgery fellowship at the Florida State University, working alongside plastic surgeons, dermatopathologists, and Mohs surgeons gaining further experience and training in the Mohs Micrographic Surgery technique and advanced facial reconstruction. The Mohs technique results in the best chance of cure from nonmelanoma skin cancer while preserving as much normal tissue as possible, allowing for the best cosmetic outcome.
Dr. Downing enjoys playing tennis and traveling.
