REDUCE FINE LINES
Dysport Injections
Treat Facial Muscles and Reverse Signs Of Aging. At Radiant Dermatology & Aesthetics, we recommend Dysport® injections for patients who want to reverse the signs of aging and appear more refreshed, relaxed, and rested by reducing facial wrinkles and fine lines. The non-invasive treatment temporarily limits muscle movement in the targeted areas, helping to restore a youthful appearance.

We offer Dysport® or Cosmetic Injections for patients wanting to appear more rested, relaxed, and refreshed.

How Does Dysport® Work?
Contracted facial muscles cause moderate to severe lines and wrinkles on the face. Neuromodulators such as Dyport® is a prescription medication of Botulinum Toxin Type A that is injected into muscles to block a muscle’s nerve signals. Once the signal is blocked, the muscle is unable to contract and form the lines of wrinkles that make faces look aged, giving an appearance that is significantly more refreshed and relaxed.
Aside from minimizing lines and wrinkles, botulinum toxin type A injections can also be used to treat neck bands, soften square jawlines, improve skin dimpling of the chin, and lift the corners of the mouth.

“Dysport® is an injectable Botulinum Toxin Type A Product. When injected into the muscles of the face, the product safely and effectively work to reduce lines and wrinkles that are caused by habitual everyday expressions and the aging process.”

DYSPORT FAQs
What is the difference between BOTOX and Dysport Injections?
Both prescribed medications are injectable neurotoxins commonly used to reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines. While both treatments offer similar results and last approximately three to four months, they differ in cost and targeted areas.
Botox is typically injected around the mouth, forehead, and eyes to limit the appearance of laugh lines, frown lines, and crow's feet. In comparison, Dysport is injected in five different spots to reduce vertical lines between the eyebrows. However, there are other off-label uses of Dysport as well, and at Radiant, we offer other areas on the face for Dysport injections.
Some of the areas we can treat include crow's feet, under-eye bags, gummy smiles, bunny lines, and masculine jaw injections.
How do I know if I'm a good candidate for Dysport?
Dysport is an ideal solution for adults wanting to soften the appearance of moderate to severe vertical wrinkles (glabellar lines) occurring prominently between the eyebrows and on the forehead. Those with mild wrinkles may not qualify for Dysport cosmetic injections.
Does Dysport have side effects?
The most common side effects are a mild headache and temporary bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. Although side effects are rare, they may also include:
- Breathing or swallowing issues
- Double or blurred vision
- Eyelid drooping
- Muscle fatigue or weakness
- Nausea
- Voice loss or hoarseness
Is Dysport safe for everyone?
Dysport is considered safe for most patients when administered by a trained and qualified healthcare provider. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Dysport for cosmetic use in 2009, although it is not recommended for use by pregnant women.
What age is best to start getting Dysport?
Patients between 18 and 65 are best suited for Dysport cosmetic injections.
Where is Dysport injected?
A standard Dysport treatment requires a single injection into five points above and between the eyebrows, taking approximately 10 to 20 minutes. A topical anesthetic may be applied for pain relief.
How long does Dysport last?
Dysport cosmetic injections are temporary and typically last between three and six months. Maintenance treatments may be necessary to achieve longer-lasting results.
Does Dysport interact with medication?
Before receiving treatment, patients are encouraged to speak with their medical team about any existing allergies or health conditions that may interfere with Dysport treatment.
How much does Dysport cost?
The cost of Dysport varies depending on the number of injections needed but typically ranges between $300 and $450 per session. Most medical insurance providers do not offer coverage when used for cosmetic purposes.
What is the recovery like for Dysport?
Unlike other wrinkle-reducing techniques, Dysport® cosmetic injection does not require downtime. There may be slight bruising for one or two days following treatment, but it is only temporary, and makeup can easily cover the area while it heals. Most patients report improvement in their facial appearance within 1 to 10 days of receiving the Dysport® injection.
There is no required recovery time, with most patients able to return to normal activities immediately. However, we recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity for the first few hours after treatment.
Will I need to take time off after Dysport?
No. Many patients schedule a procedure during their lunch break and return to work immediately after receiving the injection.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR DYSPORT APPOINTMENT
It is important to follow all medical recommendations and avoid anti-inflammatory medications and alcoholic beverages before receiving a Dysport® cosmetic injection. We also recommend scheduling a treatment at least two weeks before a special event for optimal results.
